10 Days safari to Dar es Salaam, Mikumi, Ruaha and Selous game reserve

Day 1: Arrival Dar es Salaam

Meet and greet on arrival at Dar es Salaam airport, then get transfer to your accommodation for dinner and overnight. Meals: D.

Day 2: City tour

After breakfast you will have full day city tour in Dar es Salaam. Dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 3-4: Dar es Salaam /Mikumi national park

Full day of game drives around Mikumi. There is a rich variety bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants and close to the water holes also lions, leopards and hippos. Furthermore you can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. You also go on a walking safari to the African Bush with an armed ranger.

Dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 5: Mikumi / Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, depart for Ruaha National Park (long drive of some 7-8 hours. In the afternoon we reach the lodge constructed on and around a rocky kopje overlooking the Great Ruaha River. The Lodge provides comfortable accommodation and good food while blending into its surroundings to enable visitors to feel themselves a part of the wild. Both the dining “Banda” and the bar, in elevated position above the river combine comfort and coolness together with the most spectacular views.

Day 6: Ruaha National Park

Full day game drives at Ruaha National Park with picnic lunch.

Ruaha, with an area of 10,300sq.km. Is the second largest park, and second largest elephant sanctuary in Tanzania. The great Ruaha River that flows along its entire eastern border, creating spectacular gorges and scenery, features a large number of hippos and crocodiles. The wide variety of animals include Greater and Lesser Kudu, roan and sable antelope. Bird life is rich, with over 370 species recorded. Overnight Dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 7:  Ruaha to Morogoro

Start your day with very early morning walking safari inside Ruaha National Park accompanied by an armed ranger and after your late breakfast you depart Ruaha National Park with packed lunch boxes. On arrival in Morogoro Town in the late afternoon you will check in for dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 8: Morogoro to Selous Game Reserve

Depart after breakfast with packed lunch boxes for Selous Game Reserve. The drive will make you pass through farms along Uluguru Mountains and villages. On arrival in Selous you will start with afternoon game drives, with dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 9: Selous Game Reserve

Start with morning game drives and after your morning game drives you drive back for your fresh lunch at Hippo Campsite. After lunch you will relax along the banks of River Rufiji before going for afternoon boat safari in Rufiji River with dinner and overnight at your selected accommodation. Meals: B, L, D.

Day 10: Selous game reserve /Departure

After Breakfast you will drive to Dar es Salaam, later you will get transfer to Dar es Salaam international air port to catch your flight back home.
